Today (July 29, 2017; Saturday), the internship program for 52nd batch of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students at Bangladesh Agricultural University (BAU) has started. The program was inaugurated by Dr. Md. Ainul Haque, Director General (DG) of the Department of Livestock Services (DLS), Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh. In this glorious occasion, Md. Zakir Hossain, Managing Director, Milk Vita was present as the Special Guest. Honorable Pro-Vice-Chancellor of BAU, Professor Dr. Jashimuddin Khan attended the program as the Chief Patron. The program was presided over by Professor Dr. Md. Priya Mohan Das, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Science, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh.
This year, a total of 138 interns will attend ten different placement [including two places in India] centers in Bangladesh and India. In India, the interns will be staying at Madras Veterinary College under the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Science University. The eight placements in Bangladesh are National Zoo, Savar Military Farm, Central Veterinary Hospital, Savar Dairy Farm, Rural Development Board, Milk Vita, Quality Feed Mymensingh and BAU Veterinary Teaching Hospital.
Through this internship program, the students will be practically experienced with infectious diseases, public health, zoonoses, farm management, pet care and other related aspects of veterinary sciences.
