On 17 August (Thursday), a day-long workshop with the above title has been held at the Chittagong Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (CVASU). The workshop was inaugurated by the Vice-Chancellor of CVASU Prof. Dr. Goutam Buddha Das. The inaugrual ceremony was chaired by Prof. Dr. Md. Kabirul Islam Khan, Director of Research and Extension, CVASU. Prof. Dr. Selim Md. Jahangir, Principal and Dean, Chittagong Medical College, Prof. Dr. M. Nurul Absar Khan, Dean, Faculty of Fisheries, CVASU, Prof. Dr. Md. Rayhan Faruque, Dean, Faculty of Food Science and Technology, CVASU, Prof. Md. A Halim, Dean, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, CVASU, and Prof. S.M. Harun-ur-Rashid, Director, Student Affair and Counseling Division, Hajee Mohammad Danesh Science and Technology University, Dianajpur were present as the special guests.
Two key note papers have been presented in the workshop. A keynote on “Role of Reference Lab for disease diagnostics” was presented by Dr. Md. Rafiqul Islam, PSO, Bangladesh Agricultural Research Council. Another keynote on “Biosafety in the Lab: Issues and Concerns” was presented by Prof. Dr. KHM Nazmul Hussain Nazir, Dept. of Microbiology and Hygiene, Bangladesh Agricultural University, Mymensingh. HEQEP supported the workshop was participated by about 100 medical and veterinary students, academicians and veterinary professionals.
